These arts organizations call Proctors home
Each of these organizations share a special partnership with Proctors.
Classic Theater Guild, a locally run theater company, began performing shows at the Hilton Center in Albany in 2003. It went on to perform at such venues as the WAMC, Old Songs, and elsewhere until it settled in at Proctors in 2008.
Eighth Step ranks as America’s oldest continuously running non-profit coffeehouse. Founded in 1967 in Albany along Washington Park, The Eighth Step moved to Proctors during the 2007-08 season and has remained ever since.
The resident orchestra of Proctors, the Schenectady Symphony Orchestra is a talented group of more than 70 musicians. Founded in 1935; most of the orchestra’s performances have been held at Proctors since 1979.
The Story Circle of the Capital District was established in 1983 to provide an opportunity for members to tell stories before a live audience. It is the resident storytelling company at Proctors.
