The Octavo Singers Present an Evening of Rutter, Fauré and Poulenc featuring the Capital District Youth Chorale 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at Proctors

SCHENECTADY, N.Y.—April 2, 2018—Proctors will host the Octavo Singers of Schenectady and the Capital District Youth Chorale in an evening of music by French and British composers, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 21. The first half of the evening will feature the Octavos in a presentation of Francis Poulenc’s “Gloria” and Gabriel Fauré’s “Requiem.” The second half of the evening will feature Karlinda Caldicott, harpist, as she and the Octavo Chamber Orchestra present Handel’s famous “Harp Concerto in B-flat Major.” The evening will conclude with both choral groups and the orchestra performing John Rutter’s “Mass of the Children.”

Curtis Funk, artistic director, conducts the Octavo Singers and the Octavo Chamber Orchestra. The Capital District Youth Chorale prepared for this concert under the direction of Diane B. Warner. Combined, the two choirs comprise approximately 185 voices.

Vocal soloists for the performance will be Vedrana Kalas Bubregovic, soprano, and Siddharth Dubey, baritone.
