Nick Vatterott and Amber Nelson team up to co-headline Pretty Much The Best Comedy Show
Following a successful January outing at Capital Repertory Theatre, Pretty Much The Best Comedy Show will now appear seasonally at theREP, as well as making its monthly stand at Proctors.
PMTBCS veteran Nick Vatterott returns to co-headline a Capital Repertory Theatre edition of the popular stand-up showcase with Amber Nelson, 8 p.m. Saturday, June 11.
Vatterott, a Chicago native gone New York, previously appeared at Proctors for PMTBCS last September. The Chicago Reader says Vatterott, “doesn’t think outside the box so much as set the box ablaze with a blowtorch.”
Andy Kaufman Award-winner Vatterott, who boasts an extensive broadcast resume, was a producer/writer/performer for Comedy Central’s Mash Up, and has a Half Hour comedy special on the network. The Hollywood Reporter named him a “break-out” performer at Montreal’s 2010 Just For Laughs festival. And Vulture, Laughspin and Splitsider all named his 2014 album For Amusement Only as a top comedy album of the year.
Nelson, similarly New York based, has also performed at Just For Laughs, and was part of the Oddball Comedy Tour. She’s a regular at Manhattan’s Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) Theatre, and has performed on Mash Up and AXS TV’s Gotham Comedy Live as well as with the edgy sketch comedy group, Murderfist.
Nelson also does a regular humor/self-help podcast, The Brighter Side.
Pretty Much The Best Comedy Shot at theREP is sponsored by DeCrescente Distributing Co.
