Shane Torres headlines Pretty Much the Best Comedy Show at Proctors
Dallas-born Shane Torres is a fast-rising star on the national comedy circuit, as both stand up and writer. He headlines Pretty Much the Best Comedy Show at Proctors, 8 p.m. Saturday, July 30.
With a March appearance on Conan considerably advancing his profile, the time to catch Torres is now.
The 34-year-old veteran of Last Comic Standing and Comedy Bang Bang cut his teeth on the Portland, Ore. club scene, prior to moving to New York City’s comedy hub. While on the west coast, he was voted Portland’s Funniest Person in 2013; and was also dubbed one of Comedy Central’s Comics to Watch in 2012.
Torres, recently described as a “Native American Meatloaf impersonator” by The Laugh Button, has performed at festivals all over North America including Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Bumbershoot and Montreal’s Just for Laughs, where he appeared as part of New Faces of 2013.
Torres—who was the feature act for the January 2015 edition of Pretty Much the Best Comedy Show with headliner Jared Logan—is creator of the podcast radio show Help Wanted. He has also contributed writing to Laughspin, The Portland Mercury and Nailed magazine.
Pretty Much the Best Comedy Show includes a feature act, a host and a guest comedian making up nearly two hours of comedy entertainment at Proctors Underground stage.
Patrons are encouraged to buy tickets in advance to guarantee seating at the show.
